Youth Action/Advisory Councils (YACs) play a crucial role in promoting school-based health centers (SBHCs) to their peers and community members. The toolkit materials can be utilized by YACs virtually or in-person. The graphics can be uploaded to social media sites such as Instagram, Facebook, or Snapchat, as well as platforms such as Discord or websites. Students can create a video with the materials to display on YouTube or on a screen in the SBHC lobby or the school's main office. YACs can hang posters in youth-centered spaces (hallways, classrooms, bathroom stalls, after school programs, etc.), hand out fliers at school events via tabling (registration nights, open houses, club fairs, sporting events, etc.), or distribute them during lunch. YACs can do outreach to other student groups, present the materials in Health/other appropriate classes, advisory periods, assemblies, or larger community events such as farmers markets. YACs can also advertise SBHC services via school announcements and direct students to places where the materials are available.
