Day 1
We met the hosts, colleagues from Spain and Poland, and a detailed schedule of events for the whole week. After the introductory meeting, we attended the follow-up lessons of fine arts, English, physical education and Slovenian language in the upper grades and English language and nature lessons in the lower grades. Dobje Elementary School organizes a "Holiday Bazaar" on Thursday, i.e. a Christmas fair, and we attended workshops on making Christmas decorations.
Day 2
On the second day, we saw a creative example of the use of cross-curricular correlation (home economics-English language-German language), which developed the entrepreneurial spirit of students; we learned about the process of formative evaluation with the use of One note and an e-book, and at the end we visited the kindergarten that is part of the school. The hosts showed us their beehives and the honey they produce.
Day 3
On the third day, we visited Ljubljana with our hosts and guests from Poland and Spain. The guided tour consisted of a visit to Metelkova, the Slovenian Ethnographic Museum, the city market and Prešerno Square, and we ended the tour with a funicular ride to the Ljubljana Castle in the Old Town. During the tour, we tasted local specialties.
Day 4
On the penultimate day of our stay at Dobje Elementary School, we heard how inclusion works in their school. We also got acquainted with the concept of the "learning walk" method, the practical part of which we will be able to experience tomorrow. Day 5
On the last day of our stay at Dobje Primary School, we participated in the learning walk method together with colleagues from Poland and Spain and with a group of principals from Slovenian schools. After an introduction about what we will do and what our tasks are, we were divided into groups and we went on a tour and observed 3 different classes. Each group had a specific task to follow, and at the end we had to come up with a "powerful question" for the teachers whose lessons we followed.
At the end, the teachers answered the questions and together we commented on the experience of the learning walk method itself.
At the end, we received certificates for successful participation and completion of job shadowing. This was the first job shadowing, as part of the project Go, Green, Jordanovac!, but also the first job shadowing ever in our school!
