The Orthodox Church traces its history directly to the Church founded by Jesus Christ and His Apostles, preserving the same faith, worship, and spiritual practices for over 2,000 years. Rooted in the early Christian communities of the Eastern Roman Empire, Orthodoxy spread across the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and into Eastern Europe, maintaining unity through shared doctrine, liturgy, and the guidance of the Ecumenical Councils. Despite centuries of political upheaval and cultural change, the Orthodox Church has remained committed to the apostolic tradition and the sacraments that define its spiritual life. 

Today, Orthodoxy is experiencing steady growth in the United States, particularly in the South, where a growing number of converts and cradle Orthodox are drawn to its ancient worship, theological depth, and sense of continuity with the early Church.
