The Orlango Magic Dreamers team was formed as a result of collaboration between coaches, professional wheelchair basketball teams, mentors, and parents. As the first and only competitive youth NWBA wheelchair basketball team in Central Florida, the team travels in and out of state to compete with other teams. In their first year as a registered team, the Orlando Magic Dreamers placed 21st out of 43 junior prep teams.
Our youth program is open to all children ages 5+ through high school with a permanent lower extremity disability or limb differences whether utilizing a wheelchair or not. Learn the game, build confidence, meet new friends, have fun, and play basketball! Recreational and competitive options are available. Equipment is provided.
Our team practices once a week during the season to learn the sport.
Our teams offer an opportunity to compete in NWBA tournaments.
We're not just a team, we're a community, and players build lifelong connections.
The Orlando Magic Dreamers youth wheelchair basketball team was started by the Central Florida Dreamplex whose faith-based mission drives the organization to include all individuals, regardless of ability, in sports, recreation, therapy, education, and employment, fostering a community of acceptance and support.
