The name "Origin Rigging" has two distinct connections to the mission of Origin Rigging the training provider:
First, We like to know the "Origin" of our techniques and philosophies. Our instructors actively seek the originators of our craft to train with them, converse with them, and have a deeper understanding for "why" we do what we do, to understand the "origin" of our methods.
The second meaning of "Origin" comes from the study of statics. When studying statics, it is common to draw a free body diagram of a seemingly complex configuration of components. This free body diagram allows extraneous elements to be removed so that only the vector components actually affecting loading are included. The point at which vectors come together and an analysis is conducted is called the "Origin". For example, our logo is a quasi-free body diagram of a lowering system. It appears as if the resultant is inaccurate because it is errored toward the load; but if friction is considered the resultant is actually accurate...
