It all started because the original owners of the Panorama Tours were responsible for shuttling the actors and crew back and forth from the set. Naturally, they would be privy to all of the filming locations and would get insight (or perhaps overhear) on the film from the actors and crew.

As for being able to tell if it worked or not, I don't have a better answer than to do a test. Echo cancellation is very simple to check - just try playing some audio on your computer through the speaker (eg, watch a YouTube video) and ask others in the meeting if they can hear it. If yes, you successfully turned off echo cancellation. Or log in for yourself on another device (keep that device muted and use headphones!) and do a sound check before starting the meeting if that's convenient. The voice optimization is tougher to characterize, but for me, if I play a sustained chord on the piano, with the voice optimization *on*, the sound cuts out ways too fast, - I guess it's misinterpreted as background noise. But also, just playing music normally will sound garbled - a little like being underwater - if voice optimization is on.

A couple more things to mention while I'm at it. First, if you turn off echo cancellation, you need to be listening to the meeting itself via headphones, or else there will be echo. I usually set my system sound to my speaker but select the headphones within Zoom. Second, a recent change in the Zoom app makes the Original Sound dialog not appear when you run the extension from within the meet - it is showing up on the main Zoom window, not the meeting window. So you need to switch back to the main window to work with the dialog. In theory it should work to just run the extension from the main window before you even enter the meeting, but it doesn't.

As explained in the original description for the extension, you need to do this after selecting new options within the "original sound" dialog. Even just changing from "same as system" to "internal mic" does it, so you don't need to actually have a second input device connected.

I spent over $100 on JustAsk and I did everything the tech told me, and today when I was teaching, the original sound was not there, according to my zoom students. I would really appreciate step by step instructions for the 51 year old widow whose husband did all this stuff for her!

I think that they have done something to improve it since my original post. Things have been better and I am hearing my students using iPads much better again. Students on laptops are still able to use the "use original sound" feature and I get good quality from them. Students using Android tablets have no issues at all. Overall, I do believe that Zoom seems to have rectified the issue, for which I am thankful. The only ones I have use the "Original Sound for Musicians" are students using laptops now, which is fine as the sound seems to be fine.

That is an old instruction from December 2022 and does not work since the new update of 3 weeks ago on iPad. I have tried it with 2 students. We opened the "more" tab and searched through each section. There was no option to "enable original sound" or anything similar in it.

What do you mean by "credit card of file"?

so ZOOM want a user to enter his or her credit card number into a program he or she doesn't need to purchase just so they can activate original sources for musicians?

Why? if it's not even buying, but just placing the card number, doesn't make a lot of trust in the system.

anyway, the sound in "google meet" is better and I already paid for zoom, please fix this, it doesn't make any sense.

so i liked the central positioning of the original but not the loud low frequency rumble. quick google didn't give me anything so i learned how to extract and replace sound files and did that. replaced the original's "explosion" sound with silence since there's no stock rl equivalent.

sv_pure dependent unfortunately but i guess that's a given.

ok so wtf. if you preload it then go into sv_pure 2 you get a totally different fire sound??? not the orig sound nor stock rl but some old school sound that doesn't sound like anything in tf2 i'm aware of. i checked there were no other custom sounds in my folder that could have been loading. removed and replaced the stock sounds folder and got the same. i can't explain this anomaly but let me know if the same thing does or does not happen for you. it's pretty cool, similar sound to the half life 1 rocket, much quieter than the orig.

btw i found the stock rl explosion sound. with what i shared originally there was no sound produced by rockets colliding with players/environment. just dl this and replace the custom file with the same name.

The label pioneered the concept of reissuing older pop and rock hits, and sold millions of records on his Oldies But Goodies compilation albums, several of which made the national Billboard album charts. All 15 volumes of this series were later reissued on a best-selling CD series in the 1980s and 1990s, although track listings on each CD volume varied widely from the original LP issues with identical numbers, and some volumes contained none of the same songs as their original issues. Later on, the Double Shot Records catalog got bought out by Original Sound[1] in ca. 1972.

Soundside - These homes are located west of Highway 158 from Southern Shores to Nags Head and west of Highway 12 from Southern Shores to Corolla. The distance to the sound and views vary. Some homes may not have direct access to the sound (soundside homes in the village of Duck do not have direct access to the sound).

Give sleep a chance with the original sound machine. First invented in 1962, the Dohm was initially called the Sleep-Mate (or Sleepmate) and has been beloved by generations since. The classic model features our signature fan-based natural white noise with two speed options for adjustable tone. Just plug it in, flip the switch to high or low, then rotate the cap and collar to find the best sound for you.

Objective:  To determine whether emergency department (ED) patients' self-rated levels of anxiety are affected by exposure to purpose-designed music or sound compositions with and without the audio frequencies of embedded binaural beat.

Interventions:  All interventions involved listening to soundtracks of 20 minutes' duration that were purpose-designed by composers and sound-recording artists. Participants were allocated at random to one of five groups: headphones and iPod only, no soundtrack (control group); reconstructed ambient noise simulating an ED but free of clear verbalisations; electroacoustic musical composition; composed non-musical soundtracks derived from audio field recordings obtained from natural and constructed settings; sound composition of audio field recordings with embedded binaural beat. All soundtracks were presented on an iPod through headphones. Patients and researchers were blinded to allocation until interventions were administered. State-trait anxiety was self-assessed before the intervention and state anxiety was self-assessed again 20 minutes after the provision of the soundtrack.

This can be looked at as an update to Per Kristan's Hi-res sound pack. He gave me permission for using his sounds, but very few of them are even from his mod anymore, as I decided to try to find the sounds myself... Why? Because I wanted the sound effects without any form of 8-bit quantization; as these are 16-bit sounds. If that isn't a big deal, this will be. Here are some things worth noting about the mod:

The list goes on and on, but I think I spoiled enough. Enjoy Doom with improved sound effects. Hopefully you'll never want to go back. Spread the word; especially to Bethesda. Ask them to add these into the upcoming Addons menu in the most recent re-release.

I'm no audio expert, but the new versions did sound a lot more trebly than the originals though - much more piercing. This might be a natural result of the higher bit-rate, but it definitely sounded different.

My only complaint (Which is an extremely minor one at that) is that a few of the sounds that weren't included in PerKristian's sound pack seem a bit distorted to me in this pack (Mainly the plasma rifle firing and the cacodemon's death sound), but it's no big deal.

Sorry to hear that @GamingMarine. There is sadly not much I can do about that. Remastering low-res audio is harder than you may think, especially since some of the sounds may have been equalized to sound "good" while Doom was being worked on. They thought they could do that with compression to restore frequencies... That's not how it's done, once the frequencies are lost, they're gone. ff782bc1db
