At the 2024 Orchid Show in Raleigh NC
This site is my personal digital greenhouse. It is a place dedicated to my research, my growing collection of orchids, and the occasional sprinkling of other plants that have shared my home over the years.
I’ve had a green thumb for as long as I can remember. My parents were both houseplant enthusiasts, and they passed that love down to me early on. That history is still alive in my home today. My two oldest plants, a Sansevieria zulu (Snake plant) and a Monstera deliciosa, have been with me for over 30 years.
My deep dive into orchids actually started as a rescue mission. A few years back, a friend was about to toss out a Phalaenopsis because the blooms had died back. I couldn't let it go to waste, so I took it home, gave it some TLC, and watched it thrive. That orchid has bloomed for me many times since and is still a proud part of my collection.
What began with that one rescue has grown into a serious passion. Today, my care has expanded to a current (as of February 2026) collection of 54 orchids across a variety of species. As I dive deeper into their history, specifically how they were viewed and used in the 16th century, I am using this space to document everything I learn.
I’m glad you’re here. Feel free to explore the Orchid Collection to see what’s currently in bloom!
