PRIVACY POLICY

Orbit ("Orbit", "we", "us", or "our") is a personal relationship manager for iPhone and iPad, developed by Steppe Summit. We built Orbit to be private by design. This Privacy Policy explains what information Orbit handles, how it is used, and the choices you have.
SUMMARY
- Orbit is local-first. The people, notes, and interactions you add are stored on your device.
- We do not require an account, and we do not ask you to sign up.
- We do not sell your data, show you ads, or use third-party advertising or tracking.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
The information you create in Orbit lives in a local database on your iPhone or iPad. This may include:
- People you choose to add and their details, such as name, role, company, phone, email, and important dates
- Notes, interactions, reminders, open items, and goals you record
- App preferences and settings
This information stays on your device. We do not operate a cloud service that stores a copy of it.
AI FEATURES
Some Orbit features use artificial intelligence, for example drafting a message or summarizing a note. When you choose to use one of these features, only the specific content needed to complete that request is sent securely to a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic, PBC) to process it and return a result. This content is used only to generate your result. It is not used to train AI models. Private notes are included only if you explicitly turn on that option in Settings.
PERMISSIONS ORBIT MAY REQUEST
- Contacts: Only if you choose to import contacts. You pick exactly who to add. Importing happens on your device, and your address book is not uploaded.
- Camera: Only if you scan a business card. The image is read on your device, and only the text you confirm is added.
- Microphone and Speech: Only if you use voice log. Audio is transcribed on your device and is not stored or uploaded.
- Notifications: Only if you enable reminders, so Orbit can remind you to reach out, follow up, or remember an important date.
You can change or revoke any of these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
PURCHASES
Orbit offers an optional subscription. Purchases and subscription management are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details.
ANALYTICS, ADVERTISING, AND TRACKING
Orbit does not include third-party advertising, and we do not use your data to track you across other apps or websites.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Because your data is stored on your device, you are in control of it:
- You can permanently delete all of your Orbit data at any time from within the app, in Settings, Reset all data.
- Deleting the Orbit app from your device removes the data stored by the app.
CHILDREN
Orbit is not directed to children and is not intended for use by children under the age required by the laws of your country or region.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page.
