The Mission of Orchard Park Youth Rugby
The Orchard Park Rugby club is a community based (with the support of OPHS) inclusive sports club dedicated to developing young athletes through sport and the positive culture of rugby.
Our Mission:
Promote the sport of rugby union in the Western New York Community
Encourage every player to develop to their maximum potential.
Properly teach the basics of our sport in a safe and positive setting.
Provide players with an understanding of the game and the skills necessary for them to continue playing rugby at the college or club level
Provide an atmosphere of fun and respect for everyone.
Develop resilient and strong people on and off the field.
Our coaches are USA Rugby certified, and have been involved in rugby for many years. With experience and in game knowledge, our coaches strive to teach the next generation of rugby players. As certified Level 200 coaches, the Orchard Park Rugby coaching staff has taken/passed SafeSport modules and use USA Rugby's guidelines to ensure the highest level of safety for all players.

Rob Beck
Boys Coach
Coach Rob joined our organization last season. Coach Rob has 16 years of playing experience. Played collegiately at Canisius College. After playing for three seasons he moved on to The Buffalo Rugby Club for two seasons, South Buffalo RFC, and finally co-founded The Southtowns Saxons Rugby Club in 2017.

Coach Glenn has been a member of the WNY Rugby community since 1994.

Led South Buffalo Rugby (2004-2014) as a Player and then Coach. (07, 11, 12 champs). Current SBRFC HOF

Coach Glenn is from Wallkill, NY. He attended Wallkill High School ('85) where he Lettered in football, wrestling and track. After High School, he attended SUNY Albany ('89) where he studied communications and played football.
Lisa Henrich
Lisa started playing rugby in 1989 at Dartmouth College, where she co-captained the team to Ivy League Championships in 1991 and 1992 and to deep runs in the national play-offs. After spending a year playing for Gotham City RFC in NYC, she moved to Philadelphia and joined the Philadelphia Women's Rugby Football Club (1993-2003). During these years, she also played select side rugby with Atlantis 7s and on the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union All Star 15s side. Lisa joined the Niagara Wasps during the Summer of 2003 after her family moved to Orchard Park and helped lead the Wasps to a Niagara Rugby Union Championship in 2004 (winning team and league MVP honors that season). Lisa helped start the first women's team in the Buffalo region in the fall of 2004 and was a member of the Buffalo Women's Rugby Club sporadically over the next ten years. During this time, Lisa also represented WNY in 7s and medaled at the Empire State Games. Lisa first became involved with Orchard Park Rugby in 2010 and joined the coaching staff in 2012. In the past ten years, Lisa has served in a number of roles for Orchard Park - ranging from "assistant to the assistant coach" to head coach, president and secretary. Lisa is proud to have seen the OP team win 5 NYS Championship titles, 3rd (2017) and 4th (2018) place finishes in the Div I bracket of Single School Nationals and a 1st place finish in 2022 (Div II). Lisa has also helped coach the WNY All Stars (2014-2017), Atlantis 7s, Niagara Wasp U18 7s (2022).

Coach Charlie has been an important addition to the OP coaching staff. He brings his rugby playing experience (South Buffalo HOF), a ton of positive energy and insights from experience coaching multiple sports.
