The specific objectives of the project are as follows:
1. Develop a multidisciplinary platform for the collaboration of different team member organizations comprising the consortium.
2. Bringing together the academia and stakeholders and NGOs in one team. Stakeholders are represented in this project by CCHE 57357 and AUB Children Cancer Center of Lebanon, whereas NGOs are represented by AAF.
3. Develop a gap analysis between Egypt/Lebanon’s implementation of pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine in the Egyptian/Lebanese healthcare community and the corresponding European Union countries.
4. Disseminate the culture of personalized medicine among the Egyptian/Lebanese healthcare practitioners (nurses, pharmacists, and physicians) for implementation in clinical practice as well as young scientists and Research and Development (R&D) workers in local/regional pharmaceutical companies.
5. Implementing new advanced technologies, such as the clinical applications of next-generation sequencing, in the regional market.
6. Shadowing the ECTS system for the developed project in a matter that matches the EU academic regulations.
7. Achieving academic accreditation from the supreme council of Egyptian universities and the Lebanese Ministry of Education.
8. Building up advanced pharmacogenomics laboratories with the state of the art equipment that will help in the development of this new field in Egypt/Lebanon in the future.
9. Establish e-labs for the proposed higher education degree to expand practical exposure of the proposed project to the biggest audience in and outside of Egypt/Lebanon.
10. Exchange of knowledge and experience between Egypt/Lebanon and participating EU esteemed institutions.
