Title: Deep-Hash based Similar Image Retrieval and Storage System

Description: In this study, we intend to design and implement a system that can efficiently search images by applying a deep hash-based algorithm for similar image search and linking it to a storage system. The main focus of this study is to construct a similar image analysis system by generating feature binary codes and object binary codes of images to which the deep hash technique is applied. It also aims to build a storage system that registers images based on binary code and retrieves similar images quickly and accurately. In this way, the calculation time is minimized and the image search result with high accuracy is guaranteed.

Title: File System Exploiting Memory-driven Computing System

Description: Currently, most file systems access file data in the kernel space through a software stack such as a virtual file system of the kernel. For this reason, the overhead and complexity of entering the kernel through the system call are increased. For this purpose, recently, several user-level file access-based access methods such as memory map files (mmap) and FUSE libraries have been proposed. However, techniques such as FUSE require higher overhead because they go through the kernel-level file system to support user-level file access. For example, a FUSE-based user-level file system uses the kernel's drivers to handle user requests. In this study, we propose a User-Level In-memory File System (ULIFS) to effectively provide file services in MDC. The proposed ULIFS file system is designed to support file access without going through the kernel's software stack, and is implemented using the shared memory technique without using FUSE. It is possible to operate with programs using standard POSIX interfaces through user-provided libraries. By using the proposed ULIFS file system, the user process can access the file at high speed in the MDC environment and perform read/write/change operations. In addition, the file I/O delay caused by the overhead inside the kernel is minimized through the user-level memory file system that multiple processes can access at the same time. The proposed system utilizes the advantages of the in-memory file system to allow multiple processes to access and perform file operations at the same time, and ultimately reduces the I/O load when files are synchronized to the disk/SSD-based file system.

Title: Design and Implementation of a variable block File System Supporting Efficient File Modification

Description: The core idea of this study is to extend the POSIX standard input/output API provided by the operating system to effectively handle file operations such as read/write/modify/add to the file stored by the user. In detail, in allocating data blocks to the file system, a set of virtual blocks of variable size is provided in addition to blocks of fixed size of 512 bytes. to minimize For this, a method of converting all the blocks constituting the file into blocks of a fixed size by applying the garbage collection method at a certain time when a large number of variable blocks are used in a single file are provided. do. In addition, in order to support insertion/deletion in block units, the input/output effect of the user's file change on the block device is minimized by modifying the location of the block recorded in the metadata. Currently, there is no research content similar to the file system proposed in this study. As mentioned in the previous section, this researcher tested a simple prototype of the block unit insertion/deletion part corresponding to some of the proposed ideas in the file system of the user area. By comparison, the performance improved by more than 2 times was obtained.
