Short Bio

Young Woong Ko is a Professor in Hallym University, Korea. He received the B.S. degree in computer engineering from Korea University, Seoul, South Korea, in 1997, and the M.S. degree in computer engineering and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Korea University, Seoul, South Korea, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. Since 2003, he has been joined as a Professor in Department of Computer Engineering, Hallym University. During 2009 – 2010, he was a visiting scholar in University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA. During 2016 – 2017, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA. As a Head Director, he is now leading the Software-centered University project (소프트웨중심대학 사업) from 2018. Also, he is a Dean of Software college (소프트웨어대학 학장) from 2018. His lectures cover operating systems, computer architectures, embedded system, etc. His research interests include operating system, embedded system design and high-performance parallel and distributed computing.
