Removing barriers that prevent access to opportunities
Open Opportunity is a nonprofit organization created to remove barriers that prevent access to opportunities for people around the world. These barriers may include but are not limited to financial, logistical, educational, and geographic barriers. The organization will address these barriers through the use of education, mentoring, sponsorship, and other activities.
The Novelist Sponsorship program provides a monthly stipend to a selected Malawian author in order to remove the financial barrier authors in Malawi face. The end goal is for them to produce a novel that represents Malawi.
E4Change provides mentoring to boys and girls at Bwaila Secondary School in Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. E4Change is a small, local organization that brings community members to talk with students and support them in bettering their lives.
