As a returning player, you're already familiar with the League. This guide provides a quick overview of important things to know for 2025.
Opening Day is April 7!
Join OOGL by completing the 2025 Player Registration.
League registration fee ($30) is due when you play your first round. Electronic payment is encouraged, but cash always works.
Apple Pay to 509-205-1804
Venmo to @RichQuadrel
Weekly Prize Pool fees ($4) and weekly prize payouts (zillions of dollars) will be recorded in the Commissioner’s Ledger after each round. The Commissioner will "balance the books" twice during the season - in July and October - and either collect fees due or pay out prize money won, depending on each player's balance in the Ledger.
If you don't already have a USGA handicap, you can establish your handicap by joining the Horn Rapids Players Club or creating a free account on TheGrint.
Wait for the Call for Players email, which is sent at noon on Tuesday before the round on the following Monday.
If you want to play, access the online OOGL Tee Sheet (a link to the Tee Sheet will be provided in the email), enter your name in an available slot, and select your tees. Signups for specific tee times are “first come, first served.” Signups close at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
On Monday, check the Pairings on the Golf Genius website to verify your start time and playing partners - the Commissioner may have adjusted tee times slightly to optimize the pairings. The player with the lowest handicap will be the group's official scorekeeper.
On Monday afternoon, play your round following USGA and local rules and maintain a 2-hour pace. To save time, play “ready golf” and use the USGA Local Rule E-5 as an alternative to stroke & distance penalties if your ball is lost or goes out of bounds. Remember to have fun while you're playing 😎.
After finishing, the scorekeeper should sign the card, take a clear picture of it, and text the picture to the Commissioner at 509-205-1804. Scores should be transmitted by 9:00 pm on Monday.
Post your score to your selected handicap service (GHIN or TheGrint) before midnight on Monday. Use the hole-by-hole scoring feature and let the service determine your adjusted score for posting.
Check the Golf Genius website on Monday evening for results and prize payouts.
Repeat for the following week, starting at Step 6.
