I with few members of FINE group travelled to Grenoble/France to perform several experiments including XEOL, XRF, XANES spectra and their mappings in ESRF - ID16.
Also, I worked on the temperature/pressure sensors from optical cavities on Cr-doped Ga2O3 in ESRF - ID15 in few days.
ESRF is European Synchrotron Radiation Facility and one of the most powerful X-ray sources in the world. Members of FINE group visited to the facility for the third time working on various projects that contributed to several articles from ESRF.
And new results are coming with new research articles!!!

I spent six weeks mentoring Michael Pagan, a visiting student from Puerto Rico participating in the Project SAIL funded by U.S. National Science Foundation. The goal of the project was to expose Hispanic undergraduate students to nanoscience research under the supervision of a dedicated research team.
Within the FINE group, we collaborated on a simulation project using Optiwave, which we controlled and optimized using Python (SciPy). Our goal was to determine the cavity geometry of Cr-doped Ga₂O₃ to achieve an optimal Distributed Bragg Reflector (DBR).
I was glad to be part of this project and to work with the team, and I look forward to future collaboration opportunities.

First day in my new PostDoc position!!! I am excited to announce that I have joined FINE Group in the Department of Materials Physics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM).
I have started working with Bianchi Méndez Martín and Emilio Nogales Díaz on Gallium Oxide (Ga2O3). Although the material is different from my previous work, the methods and techniques used to fabricate and characterize the devices remain the same.
About UCM founded in 1499, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid is a historic university located in the heart of Madrid. Its curernt campus was reconstructed after the Civil War to stand today as a protected monument to education and history. It is consistently ranked among the top universities in Spain and serves as a major center for academic research in Europe.

I am pleased to announce that I have successfully defended my doctoral thesis, titled "Strain and Substrate Engineering of 2D Materials", at the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC).
The thesis was carried out under the supervision of Andrés Castellanos Gómez. I presented my defense on 17.10.2024 before a committee of experts in the field.
I would like to extend my gratitude to the jury (or tribunal in Spain) members for their time and insightful evaluation:
Julio Gómez Herrero (Tribunal Chair)
Pablo Ares García (Tribunal Secretary)
Christoph Gadermaier
Pablo San José Martín
