Chapter 10
Chapter 12
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
This faith is the very first substance of the new creation, and as such the evidence of the fullness of the new creation of all things which is in him and will be revealed in him, according to the plan of redemption.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
As Adam foresaw Noah and Noah foresaw Abraham and Abraham foresaw Moshiah, so Moshiah foresaw the glory set before him.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
[Gen 4:1–16]; [5:18–24]; [6:5—8:22]
Not only were Adam and Eve brought to personal repentance by this faith, but Able also, believing the testimony of his parents
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaks.
Not only were Adam and Eve brought to personal repentance by this faith, but Able also, believing the testimony of his parents
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Enoch... the ascension = Elijah = Shem/Abraham <—> Enoch/Elijah
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
The reward embedded in the ongoing repentance and redemption
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Noah and the corporate word
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith
By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
Go to yourself... to yourself that you do not and cannot yet know.
The calling is to Abram, meaning to the sinner in Adam needing the confession of the Justice of Adam’s sentence of death to be made by the one able to justify life. Regeneration is conceived in Abram and brought to new birth in Abraham.
By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as _in_ a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
Sojourned...steps to Isaac, steps to Jacob
For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
[[Ahjiah’s prophecy]]
He only looked from the first footstep in the land for the new Jerusalem.
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
Her laughter was hope, her hope was faith.
Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable
As good as dead.. as if an allusion to the association between the aging of Abraham after Ishmael to finally the time of rectification was accomplished and the offering of Isaac
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
Moshiah himself is this cornerstone of regeneration’s conception in Abram by calling and promise, for this is the word of God’s claim upon Adam.
For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
All generations of the Jewish people until Jerusalem finally embraces Yehoshua in the end.
And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned
They cannot be mindful of this world in its view of itself, for they can be mindful now only of the world as it has been re-worded by God in Abraham and the Son of David.
In that it was then promise only...
But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
The whole people of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob are defined as the Jewish people in the promise of Ahjiah’s prophecy.
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
Indicating that as his repentance was in offering up Isaac in the end, so the corporate repentance and faith of his children would come in the end with their embrace of the one whom their Father in heaven would give for them, whom he would raise from the dead.
Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
In Isaac...in the promise a the corporate judgment upon Adam’s transgression of taking his inheritance from God for granted...
Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.
Not just because the promise to him had to be certain but because of the nature of the promise itself, which was salvation in death with promise...the promise of his corporate calling, i.e., Abraham with Sarah, i.e. Isaac.
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
Esau’s blessing being only in Jacob...as Adam’s blessing is only in Abraham.
Jacob Blessed Joseph’s two sons knowing that a transgression of the firstborn of Israel must come, moving one tribe into the place of the priesthood, so as to reframe the seal of the corporate nature and testimony of Israel.
Go to verse 21
By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
Jacob Blessed Joseph’s two sons knowing that a transgression of the firstborn of Israel must come, moving one tribe into the place of the priesthood, so as to reframe the seal of the corporate nature and testimony of Israel.
By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
Understanding the complete testimony of the Passover of the Lamb Of God.
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw _he was_ a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
Moshe’s mother and family was all Israel
By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
The righteous gentile is the servant of God’s witness. But it is Israel alone who is God’s witness.
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Universalism is the final temptation but will be overcome.
> In Moshe’s time the universalism was through magical idolatry. In this day it will be scientific spiritual universalism.
Esteeming the reproach of Moshiah greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward
respect unto the recompense of the reward
He knew he served a new creation
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
...as seeing him who is invisible
The ones with the power of executions did not cause Yehoshua to fear
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
...as seeing him who is invisible
The ones with the power of executions did not cause Yehoshua to fear
By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
One nation was baptized from sin unto death, and one nation was baptized from sin unto life.
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
There new life began
They were born in a weak conversion
With the Torah and Shechinah they wandered
Until they have crossed the Jordan
The river of repentance
With Joshua
Who was the Joshua of the walls of Jericho
By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
By this revelation of the new creation of faith the righteous gentile is grafted into the body of salvation.
And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthah; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
Search the Scriptures for it is they which testify with this cloud of the children of Israel of Yehoshua the Moshiah.
Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
You stand on the shoulders of giants
Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
The weakest were the strongest
Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
There is a resurrection and a better resurrection of the better prepared vessels.
And others had trial of cruel mocking and scourging, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
Suffering with Moshiah
They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
God being hand in hand with them
Of whom the world was not worthy: they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
All that they did they did for the whole world
And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
There is one body formed of two witnesses. One is to the claim of God upon Adam, which is the witness of the promise. Two is to the eternal mercy of God in his only begotten Son.
God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
What is the testimony to the world that Yehoshua HaMashiach is the way God loved the world? And how is it one with the testimony of the promise of the Jewish people made to Abraham, which marked his claim upon Adam?
Why did God say that he had a claim on Adam through which he could redeem Adam from sin and death? Because it was in the gift of his Son that he loved Adam in the beginning.
