PIE -Painting in English

Every cook knows that in order to make a delicious pie you need good ingredients, a detailed recipe and a lot of love and patience during the whole process. A similar analogy can be applied to this project. The art and the English teachers used the CLIL approach to prepare a lesson about complementary pairs of colours for Art group students aged 11-14. The students made paintings (pies) using their creativity and the knowledge of the content (ingredients), and wrote detailed descriptions in English (recipes). The descriptions were then sent to partner schools from Turkey and Poland whose students painted a picture following the instructions in the texts. We sent the second paintings to each other by post, made an online exhibition on Twinspace, hosted real exhibitions at our schools and voted for the best pairs.
