Glad you decided to join the class!

There are 7 major badge categories you need to earn during the course. In order to earn the major badges you will need to complete several tasks (which you will earn badges as well) within each category).

The badges align with the 2016 International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards fro students.

As you earn badges, you can display them proudly on your Blog (make a page on your Blog for displaying your badges and achievements).

We also encourage you to print your badges and display them on your door for all to see.

Task 1

• Create your Blog (This will earn you one of the Digital Citizenship badges).
• Click here for Blog Setup Directions
• Share the Url to your blog on the Class Blog Page
• Create your first blog post!

Task 2

• Get connected with Twitter
• Create Twitter Account
• Upload a profile picture
• Post your first Tweet

Task 3

• Create a Credly Account. Credly is the online tool we are using to issue badges so you may showcase your achievements
• Go to Credly and choose Create Account
• Complete the form (you will be choosing individual account)

Task 4

• Join our Google Classroom Backchannel

Task 5

• Complete Twitter Challenge (from Module 3) before first Twitter chat on 8/1

Once you have completed the tasks above you should complete the Module 2 activities to earn the Digital Citizenship badges.

After that you can work to earn any of the other major badges, by clicking on the webpage and working on whichever tasks you choose! Please complete tasks in order to earn all 7 Major Badges!
