English born Syd moved to Australia in the seventies and started a catering company working in TV and film, as well as for private and corporate clients. She ran cooking classes and wrote several household hint books. During her long career in food Syd has always pursued her art practice and specialised in print making for many years, before turning towards painting in acrylics.

She has participated in several group shows in Sydney including the Central Coast’s Bouddai Artist Society and her own solo show “My Cheeky Chooks and Pastures Green” at ME Art Space, St. Leonards in 2017. Her quirky paintings have sold in Australia and in the UK. She has won several art prizes for prints and acrylic paintings.

Syd explores using collage in her works with paper mache and wire sculpture while interested in developing skills in experimental print making, paper sculpture and construction. She is member of Primrose Park Paper Art Inc. and exhibits with them in group shows. Syd loves animals and nature and is passionate about the environment; and this she represents in her art.
