Libby Dunn

My work is free form and intuitive, offering the viewer an experience within, where there is the freedom to make of it as they choose.

Through a process of layers and windows to past work, replacing and displacing, rupturing connections and forming others, the history remains evident in the final work.

Quasi-figurative components, along with incidental effects, provide an ambiguity in the works - an “in between” as de Stael puts it.

My work is informed by the Abstract Expressionists of America - Rothko, de Kooning, Klein Frankenthaler and Diebenkorn and Europe - de Stael, Poliakoff and Soulages.
