Fiona Chaplin

Fiona Chaplin grew up in the English countryside and moved to Sydney in her early 20’s. She has travelled extensively, and lived in the USA and Spain.

Drawn to creative pursuits at an early age, Fiona now paints in her studio at One+2 Artist Studios Rozelle and exhibits widely in the Sydney art scene.

Fiona has studied at the National Art School under Roger Crawford and worked with other prominent artists including Jo Bertini, Tony Tozer and Debbie Mackinnon.

Fiona’s passion is for the landscape and working in a semi-abstract style. Her enthusiasm for exploring the complexities of nature, observing its form, texture and colour in an ever-changing environment is reflected in the drawings and paintings she creates.

Working from plein-air sketches, Fiona develops the work further in her studio using collage and mixed media techniques with major works in acrylic and oils.

For Fiona, art is part of a journey, experimenting with ideas and concepts as she feels and sees them, and experiencing the process.
