Majella Barbe

I am interested in the landscape at an abstract, elemental level, although, recently my oil paintings have become more figurative.

They are drawn from the imagination and emerge from the brushstrokes into 'waterscapes' evocative of rivers and inlets.

I studied art history and theory at the Power Fine Arts department, University of Sydney and oil painting at the Charlie Sheard Studio School.

I was a finalist in the Gallipoli Art Prize 2007 and I have exhibited at galleryHM, Alexandria.
