Lisa McKimmie

Lisa McKimmie is a contemporary artist predominantly working with painting and drawing media. Lisa is a graduate and postgraduate of the National Art School, Edith Cowan University (WAAPA), Monash University and The College of Fine Arts, UNSW.

 

Since returning to Australia at the end of 2020 Lisa McKimmie has reestablished her Sydney art practice and been a finalist in many art prizes including the Portia Geach Memorial Prize (for the third time), the Fischer’s Ghost (second time), Paddington Art Prize, Blacktown City Art Prize, Grace Cossington Smith, Calleen Art Award and the Kennedy Prize.

 

Lisa was runner up in the 2021 Remagine Art Prize for her painting ‘Anthill’ and is a semi-finalist in the Doug Moran National portrait Prize 2022.

 

In her current work Lisa McKimmie is exploring notions of landscape and memory.
