The natural world is perfectly intricate in its creation. I marvel at its beauties, the lessons of perfection, humility, sustainability and interconnectedness that it shares when we open our eyes, listen, inhale and feel it. It is my own spiritual guide, revealing to me much about my own nature.

I create to explore and respond to this world and to reflect upon our underlying purpose as a member of the human race. The world of creation is full of mystery on the physical, intellectual and spiritual planes.

My artmaking practice is guided by my interest in exploring the human condition, using the metaphor of nature and creation – the relationships we have with others, the journeys we take, sometimes civilisation as a whole. We have all been created noble and have the capacity to refine our own character and I try to choose processes and materials that refer to this concept of refinement and transformation.

I use a range of media, including the found object with its myriad histories, natural, simple materials, such as paper, wax, glass and ceramics, painting, digital photography and assembled sculpture. The site and context of a work are also important to me.
