Jana Hunt

Since graduating from COFA in 1990, I have been mainly exploring the genre of still life. Even though, there have been many conceptual shifts in this genre over the last one hundred years, I still believe there are new exciting possibilities within this very traditional subject matter. My mission is to continue to explore these possibilities towards something new. My subject matter can also be extended to portraiture, the female form and the landscape.

The muted tones of Morandi and the stylistic incongruity of the work of Gerhard Richter are my main influences. I am also interested in the impact and interplay of digital photography on painting.
