Gweneth Buckle

Gweneth is an artist whose large commissioned works can be seen in many of Sydney's public places such as Castle Hill RSL Club and Canterbury/Bankstown (Bulldogs) Club as well as in private collections.

Gweneth semi-abstract compositions are inspired by the vast and diverse Australian landscape. The rich intensity of her paintings is achieved by a deliberate interplay of texture created by scraping, incising, sanding and intrinsic layering of transparent and opaque pigment.

Her addiction to drawing, especially of tools and machinery, reveals a personal interest which is a central component to her work. An accumulation of bolts, nuts, nails etc. adds a dimension to her smaller works.
