Hye In Jeong

I am an artist whose work moves fluidly between cubism and abstraction, guided by a persistent desire to look beyond visible reality. Working primarily in oil on canvas, I construct layered compositions that fracture time and space into luminous fragments. My paintings often feel dreamy and contemplative, shaped by my habit of constant reflection and reverie. I have always wanted to capture something beyond the surface of the real world.

Through shifting planes, overlapping perspectives, and subtle distortions, I try to reveal what lies behind appearances. For me, abstraction is not a departure from meaning but a way of approaching it more closely. I believe abstraction must contain a space that sees through everything - a space where scattered fragments gather into something essential. Within these pieces of time and space, I hope viewers sense that presence and find a place where they, too, can pause and breathe inside the life held within the canvas.
