Amanda Humphries

Humphries, born in Moree NSW studied painting at the College of Fine Arts UNSW Sydney and the University of California San Diego USA graduating with a BA in Fine Arts in 2003. She has exhibited in a selection of group and solo shows in ARI’s, regional and commercial galleries both in Australia and overseas, including a residency in India in 2008, and a scholarship to study and exhibit at the University of California San Diego in the USA in 2002. She is currently living in Sydney and working from One plus 2 studio in Balmain.

Most recent projects include working with Perth collective Remnant Dance Theatre (RDT) number of projects for 4 years, including a multi-arts production (film, dance and visual arts) in Myanmar in 2013/14 and the 2014 Fremantle Festival while working from a studio at PSAS in Fremantle. In 2016 experimenting in animation and digital art performance for the RDT multi–arts Production in Perth and Swan Valley, this is in collaboration with arts collective Hyphen, and composer Digby Hill.

Humphries' work is represented in collections in Australia and overseas including Ronald MacDonald House in Western Australia and Cholamandalum Art Centre in Chennai India and Cummins and Wallace in Moree.

Humphries lives and works in Sydney, Australia.
