Award: $1,500 per chosen student (two winners per calendar year)

Eligibility:  Eligibility is limited to applicants who meet all of the following criteria:

- Applicant must be a senior at BHM High School.

- Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA (unweighted)

- Applicant must demonstrate enrollment in art courses during high school (unofficial transcript)

- Applicant must submit ALL completed materials by the deadline (May 3rd, 2024).

- Applicant must submit a portfolio of work via  photographs of artwork.

The Application and Attachments:  Please provide detailed answers to the application questions and submit all required attachments, including a link to view artworks on a website or jpeg attachments to the application (emailed).  All information received from applicants will be maintained in confidence.

Artworks may consist of a variety of art mediums, including 3-dimensional, 2-dimensional, and/or digital format (eg. Photography, graphic design, etc). Students are not limited to one art medium. Be sure to have a clear photo of each work. 

Required materials for a complete application:

• A completed application form (page 2 of this packet)

• An online portfolio (may also email images) consisting of at least 5 artworks, as well as copies of any awards achieved during high school. 

• An essay (not to exceed 700 words) addressing one of the following prompts:

• Explain how art has impacted your life, mental health, and/or high school journey. 

• Explain a hardship that you have overcome, or continue to overcome and how that affects your artwork.

Please note: Essays exceeding the word-count limit will not be read.
