Dr. Asnani is a principal investigator in the BIDMC CardioVascular Institute, an Associate Member of the BIDMC Cancer Research Institute and an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. She is focused on basic and translational cardio-oncology research. She also currently serves as the Chair of the American Heart Association's Cardio-Oncology Committee.
Dr. Yang is a veterinary cardiologist and a researcher of regenerative medicine. With these two roles, she bridges clinical needs with basic science research objectives. She is focused understanding of the role of epigenetics in canine cardiac disease and the potential therapeutic benefits of regenerative medicine treatments for these diseases, including stem cells, exosomes, and microRNA.
Dr. Boya is a Professor of Cell Biology at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. Her lab uses cellular and animal models to understand the physiological roles of autophagy and its implications during disease. They are interested in the relationships between autophagy and basic processes such as proliferation, differentiation and cell death to gain insight into development and physiological aging.
Dr. Wai is a Principal Investigator and head of the Mitochondrial Biology research group at the Pasteur Institute in Paris. His lab uses cell and animal models in which specific mitochondrial genes are mutated to better understand how cells and tissues respond to mitochondrial dysfunction. He aims to identify the underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms that maintain cellular health and those that fail in pathological situations.
Dr. Galluzzi is am Associate Professor in the Cancer Microenvironment and Signaling Program at the Fox Chase Cancer Center of Temple Health. His research focuses on elucidating the links between cellular pathways of response to stress, including autophagy, cellular senescence, and multiple variants of regulated cell death, with the preservation of organismal homeostasis, having a particular focus on anticancer immunity.
Dr. Đikić is a is a professor at Goethe University Frankfurt and a fellow of Max Planck Society. He is a leading expert in the fields of ubiquitin biology and cancer research. His lab studies pathological alterations that lead to the development of human diseases such as cancer, neurodegeneration and infection. He has recieved the Ernst Jung Prize for Medicine and the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize.
Professor Kevin Ryan is an internationally recognized cancer biologist whose research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of programmed cell death and cancer metabolism. His laboratory investigates how cancer cells evade cell death and develop resistance to therapy. His goal is to identify new therapeutic strategies that improve treatment responses and patient outcomes, particularly in pancreatic cancer.
Dr. Douglas Green is a globally recognized immunologist and pioneer in the study of regulated cell death. His research has fundamentally advanced our understanding of apoptosis, necroptosis, autophagy, and the interplay between cell death and the immune system. His work has shaped modern concepts in cancer biology and immunology, providing critical insights that inform the development of immunotherapeutic approaches.
Dr. Marja Jäättelä is an internationally recognized cancer researcher and leader in the study of cell death and metabolism. Her research explores the roles of lysosomes and autophagy in cancer progression, alternative cell-death pathways, lysosomal membrane integrity, and lipid metabolism. Her translational work also focuses on developing clinically relevant therapies that target lysosomal function and lipid metabolism for cancer treatment.
Lakshmi Pulakat, PhD, is a Principal Investigator at the Molecular Cardiology Research Institute and Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. Her laboratory develops new treatments for cardiovascular disease caused by obesity and diabetes, as well as localized drug-delivery approaches for diabetic foot ulcers and chronic lung inflammation.
Dr. Joshua Kritzer is a professor in the Department of Chemistry at Tufts University. His laboratory develops peptides and peptide-inspired molecules designed to interact with protein surfaces that are difficult to target using conventional small-molecule drugs. The Kritzer Lab creates new strategies for studying and treating cancer, inflammation, and autoimmune diseases.
David E. Sosnovik, MD, is an attending cardiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School,and Director of the Program in Cardiovascular Imaging a the MGH–MIT Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. His research focuses on developing advanced cardiovascular imaging techniques, including molecular imaging, diffusion MRI, high-field MRI, novel contrast mechanisms, and rapid imaging approaches.
Dr. Michael Fradley is a Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. He serves as Associate Chief for Outpatient Services, Section Chief of Consultative and General Cardiology, and Medical Director of the Thalheimer Center for Cardio-Oncology. Before joining Penn, Dr. Fradley established the cardio-oncology program at Moffitt Cancer Center and the University of South Florida. Dr. Fradley is the current President of the International Cardio-Oncology Society (IC-OS) and serves on both the IC-OS Board of Directors and the American Heart Association’s Cardio-Oncology Committee.
