Lesson Levels

Parent & Tot (1–3 years old)
Parents help their child learn swim basics and become comfortable in the water.

Pollywog (3–4 years old)
Introduces swim basics and water comfort. Parents do not enter the water.

Jellyfish / Advanced Jellyfish
Introduction to basic crawl strokes, bobs, and floating.

Guppy / Advanced Guppy
Builds on crawl strokes and floating. Begins elementary backstroke and sidestroke.

Starfish
Kick and crawl without support, elementary backstroke, continued sidestroke, and introduction to breaststroke.

Advanced Starfish
Focus on improving endurance with crawls and kicks while developing other strokes.

Stingray
Endurance development:
Kick 100 yards, crawl 50 yards, other strokes 25 yards, butterfly 10 yards.

Barracuda
Stroke technique, flip turns, and treading water:
Crawl 100 yards, other strokes 50 yards, butterfly 25 yards.

Seals
Refining technique, turns, and endurance:
Crawl 200 yards, other strokes 100 yards, butterfly 50 yards.

Pre-Lifeguard (Sessions 2 & 3 only)
Covers lifeguard prerequisites along with rescue and removal skills.

Swim Lesson Sign-Up Dates

Sign-ups will be held at the Old Dollar General (W Huron St & S Webster Ave, Omro):

Payment: Cash or check only
If you are claiming free district lessons, please bring proof of school enrollment.

Cost: $55 per child (unless proof of enrollment is provided)

Lesson Schedule:
Lessons run Monday–Thursday for three weeks per session:

Swimming Lesson Information

Class Fee: $55 per child
Free with proof of Omro School District eligibility (see below).
Private Lessons: $70 for four 30-minute sessions.

Free Lesson Eligibility – Omro School District

Any student enrolled in or eligible to enroll in the Omro School District qualifies for free swim lessons.
This includes:
• Students eligible to enroll in 4K or older
• Students open enrolled in another district but living within the Omro School District
• Homeschooled students who live within the Omro School District
To receive free swim lessons, proof of enrollment must be provided at registration.
Examples include a report card, school letter, or other official document from the district.
There is no limit on the number of swim lesson sessions the school district will cover for an eligible student.

There are three swim lesson sessions each summer. Each session runs Monday through Thursday for three weeks, with 35-minute lessons each day.
Children may register for one session at a time. A session must be completed before registering for another session.
Class size limits will be strictly followed. No exceptions.
Parents are welcome to watch from the pool deck, but they are not allowed in the water, except for the Parent & Tot class.
Swim lessons may be canceled due to weather, including scheduled fun days. Canceled lessons will not be rescheduled.

Private lessons are offered on a limited basis and take place Monday through Thursday.

Lesson times are generally:
• 11:15 AM – 11:45 AM
• 11:45 AM – 12:15 PM

We will do our best to accommodate your preferred time, depending on availability.

Cost: $70 per person for four 30-minute sessions.
Lessons must be paid in advance.

There are no refunds for cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson.
