Membership is open twice per year to current University of Houston-Downtown students in good academic standing in the Department of Urban Education.

Student's overall GPA must be a 3.0 or higher, or a UHD cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The organization not only recognizes students for academic accomplishments, but also for leadership and involvement in school and community. Interested students must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the community and civic involvement. The online application process opens twice per year.
