SCENE 1 - KANSAS
(On the stage are a farm and a field. Everything is grey. Dorothy appears with her dog. There is an introduction with music)
DOROTHY
(Yawning) Aah, good morning Toto! What a wonderful day. Kansas sunrises are the most beautiful
that I have ever seen. Well, actually these are the only ones I know. Everything in Kansas is grey,
but wonderful.
(Toto barks)
What? What are you saying Toto? We are not alone?
(Realizing there are kids in the audience)
DOROTHY
Oh, you are right. Hello, boys and girls! How are you? My name is Dorothy! I live on this farm. This
is Toto, my dog. Say hello, Toto. (Toto barks)
(SONG 1 Dorothy sings that Kansas is grey, but it is also a beautiful place. Aunty Em appears)
AUNTY EM
Good morning, Dorothy!
DOROTHY
Good morning, Aunty Em! How are you doing?
AUNTY EM
Mmm. Not very well. This weather makes my bones hurt. Ouch! Help me carry the wood. Ouch,
ouch, my knees.
DOROTHY
Leave it, Aunty Em, I will do it later with Robert.
(They both sing. Then Uncle Henry appears)
DOROTHY
Good morning, Uncle Henry! How are you?
UNCLE HENRY
MMMMFFFF! (Grumbling) Not really well, a storm is coming, the sky is grey. I will need to lock up
the sheep, the horses, the ducks and the pigs. Grrrr! You know I am afraid of storms!
(They all sing. Then Cousin Robert appears. He is reading and stumbles)
DOROTHY
(Laughing) Ha, ha, ha! Good morning, Robert!
ROBERT
Good morning, Dorothy!
DOROTHY
What were you reading? You were distracted!
ROBERT
The power of the mind.
DOROTHY
How interesting.
ROBERT
Isn't it? (He stumbles again. He gets up and they all sing. When they finish, the hurricane comes)
AUNTY EM
Come on, we must tidy up and hide in the basement. Ouch, my back.
UNCLE HENRY
Don't worry Em, I will take care of the animals. Ah, it's coming! Come on, come on, it is here!
DOROTHY
Help me carry the wood, Robert, before the storm gets here.
ROBERT
Where is Toto?
DOROTHY
I don't know. Toto! Toto! Iʼm going after him.
ROBERT
I will tidy up, but hurry up!
DOROTHY
Toto!
AUNTY EM
Come on in! We are out of time!
DOROTHY
I'm not leaving Toto outside! He is so small! (Exit)
UNCLE HENRY
Come on, Dorothy. He will make it! Ah, the hurricane is here! Grrrr!
ROBERT
According to my time and distance calculations, we still have three minutes.
UNCLE HENRY
This is no time for calculations! Come on in! Now!
AUNTY EM
Dorothy! Dorothy! There is no time. Come on! Everybody come inside! (They open the basement
door. Aunty Em, Uncle Henry and Robert enter. Then Dorothy appears with Toto.)
DOROTHY
Toto, I finally found you! We must go inside! (She tries to open the door, but she can't) I can't open
it! (She struggles against the wind and she enters the house. The house starts spinning. After the
noise of the wind, everything is quiet again)
SCENE 2 - MUNCHKINLAND
(Dorothy appears in Munchkinland)
DOROTHY
Toto, I have a feeling we are not in Kansas anymore. (Glinda
appears) Now I know we are not in Kansas anymore.
GLINDA
Are you a good witch or a bad witch?
DOROTHY
Who, me? I'm not a witch at all. I'm Dorothy Gale, from Kansas.
GLINDA
Is that the witch?
DOROTHY
Who, Toto? Toto is my dog.
GLINDA
I came because I saw a house flying and I thought... I bet that is a witch!
DOROTHY
A witch?
GLINDA
There is a witch, and there is the house, and here you are. And I wonder, are you a good witch or a
bad witch?
DOROTHY
I have already told you, I'm not a witch at all. Witches are old and ugly.
GLINDA
Ha, ha, ha!
DOROTHY
Why are you laughing?
GLINDA
Because I am a witch. I'm Glinda, the good Witch of the North.
DOROTHY
You are? I'm sorry! But I have never heard of a beautiful witch before.
GLINDA
Only bad witches are ugly. I'm happy because you have freed this country from the Wicked Witch, look.
DOROTHY
What country? Where am I?
GLINDA
You are in Oz, the land over the rainbow.
DOROTHY
Oh, this is far away from home.
GLINDA
And where is your home?
DOROTHY
In Kansas.
GLINDA
Is it far?
DOROTHY
I don't know.
GLINDA
How long did you walk to get here?
DOROTHY
I didn't walk; a hurricane brought my house here. Why did it happen?
GLINDA
Everything happens for a reason.

DOROTHY
But I am sure I am far away from home.
GLINDA
I will give you something that will help you get back home.
DOROTHY
Oh, you will give me advice.
GLINDA
No, I will give you these ruby slippers.
DOROTHY
But I don't need shoes, I need advice.
GLINDA
All right, I advise you to put on these ruby slippers.
DOROTHY

WHERE HAVE HER SLIPPERS GONE? (Sees them on Dorothy’s feet) YOU! I will take them thank you (goes to take the slippers)

Mark my word I will get those slippers and I will make sure you never make it home,
Careful where you step, careful where you sleep as I will be the one who ends the show with the slippers on her feet (Evil Laugh)
DOROTHY

SCENE 3- WHICH WAY TO GO?
(Dorothy and toto travel down the yellow brick road. She comes to a stop as she does not know which way to go.)
DOROTHY
Hmmm, now which way to go? They told me to follow the yellow brick road but there is 2 ways. No map, and (gets out phone) yep, I guessed it, no signal. Toto, what do we do? Should we go this way, or this way or this way or this way? I just don’t know which way to (walking backwards and bumps into Jamie)
(GIRLY SCREAM)

I am Dorothy (Jamie is looking into a mirror, not listening) and I just got stuck here. It was really quite weird actually, there was this huge hurricane and then I was surrounded by these munchkins and this witch who I didn’t think was a witch because well witches can’t really be pretty can they but she was beautiful and then (she pauses) are you even listening
JAMIE
Oh yeah, sorry Tori

JAMIE
Right, and who is this little cute guy who is so fluffy and cute and I just want to take home
DOROTHY

JAMIE

Well, I've tried, just like I tried french, and its just too hard, so I gave up and now well, I'm here, I want really told what to do, I didn’t meet no one, you’re the first person I've met from the ‘outside’ world and yeah
DOROTHY
So how did you even end up here?
JAMIE
Well I was just chilling, in my red sole heels- which by the way cost a fortune so life hack, primark pair, paint the bottom red- BOOM you’re a fashion icon on a BUDGET (DOROTHY looks confused) Oh right, anyways, well I was just thinking about my future and slaying and yeah, I was just zapped into this HIDEIOUS Field, with NO ONE and my shoes are gone (he looks at Dorothy’s and sees her shoes) GASP! They are BEAUTIFUL, WHERE DID YOU GET THEM
DOROTHY
Oh, the witch gave me them
JAMIE
Will she give me some?
DOROTHY
I'm not sure, but she said I would need them to get home.
JAMIE
Nobody told me how I can get home
DOROTHY
Well I guess if you came with me, you would just go home like me
JAMIE
Sweet, so what is the plan?
DOROTHY
Well, She told me to follow the Yellow brick road. But this part of the road leads to 2 ways. I'm not sure which way to go.
JAMIE
Let’s go to the left
DOROTHY

JAMIE
Because, to the left, to the left, everything you own in a box to the left (Dorothy looks puzzled) UGH, just come on
Dorothy and Jamie walk to the left (outro plays to the left)
Dorothy and Jamie walk down the road, they come to a standstill when they see a group of people in the middle of the road.
DOROTHY
Oh look, more people! (She waves) HI! HELLO
JAMIE
Girl shhhhhhhh
DOROTHY

JAMIE
We need to leave now
DOROTHY

JAMIE
Let’s just say, they are not a big fan of Ru Paul

Well, where I am from, in my musical, I go to this school. They are the ‘populars’ (Dorothy looks puzzled) You know, the people who everyone likes and wants to be friends with. Well I just mind my own business in school. And you see him there (points to Dean)That’s DEAN PAXTON and he is like the rudest person I have ever met, he like thinks he owns the class. Well, we’re in class right (flash back begins) and we are talking about careers, and we got the results back from this questionnaire we had to do and well mine says that I'm gonna be a plumber, well I think that is fixed because me in a boiler suit is a no go. So I told Miss Hedge
Miss Hedge This can Not be right, I'm not supposed to be no plumber.
she then asked what I wanna be
MISS HEDGE
Well Jamie, what would you like to be?
JAMIE
and well I responded
‘I WANNA BE A DRAG QUEEN’.
Well, that did not go down well. She told the head teacher that I was gonna go to prom in a dress and they tried to stop me, so I, I made history
MISS HEDGE
Jamie, how many times have I told you, the careers tests are 95% accurate and to NOT be rude.
JAMIE
But Miss, I just want to be on a stage
MISS HEDGE
Well if you carry on being rude Jamie, you can sit in detention and dream about being on a stage

Look, he said if he saw me ‘gatecrash’ his prom then id be in trouble. And im telling you, my hair took me ages this morning.
DOROTHY
Well I want to go home, so you can sit here forever, or you can come with me!
JAMIE
UGHHHHHH, fine! But if my hair gets ruined I will NOT be impressed.
DOROTHY
Ok, here is what were going to do (they whisper and make a plan)
The pair walk over to the group, one of the boys Brad, taps Dean on the shoulder, Dean turns around with a tooth pick in his mouth to see JAMIE.

I did see some Munchkins earlier, but that is about it,

Well I don’t think we have all day, but basically, in yours, you're house is blown to OZ by a hurricane, you kill the wicked witch, you meet the good witch, get given some shoes and told to follow the

Well, you follow the road and meet the scarecrow, just by some fields

Well me and Mary don’t belong here, So we have replaced the original characters and I'm guessing that they are in our musicals

Well there is the Scarecrow who I have replaced and then the Tin man has been replaced by Mary
MARY POPPINS
So a Tin man is going to be looking after the children (she faints)

Well, she looks after children, she is the best babysitter in the world.

Well I presume so, unless this is all a dream
DOROTHY

JAMIE
And now we are stuck here, FOREVER (dramatic) In the middle of nowhere

PENNY

And it’s the 6 weeks holidays

And that means you are our Nannie for 6 weeks

(Mocking) Well duuhhhhhhhh, they’re not here

Well then you both must take your medicine and go to bed, an early night is better for the brain. (the two run around MARY and tie her with Rope)

(Takes money out of Mary’s purse and holds it in the air) NOW LET’S GO!

CHILDREN, COME BACK HERE AT ONCE, CHILDREN
Dorothy and Jamie run after the children to get back the belongings. This ends up in a chase, They both carry the children back and sit them on the floor after untying Mary.
MARY POPPINS
I have never met such naughty children in my life!
JAMIE
Maybe this is your challenge!
DOROTHY
Challenge?
JAMIE
You know, like how I had to face a challenge so that you could pass onto the next part of the road. Well maybe
DOROTHY
(interrupts) Maybe you must help the Naughty Children so that we can progress in the musical.
MARY POPPINS
And how exactly must we do that
Jamie and Dorothy look at each other
JAMIE AND DOROTHY
Isn’t it obvious?
DOROTHY
You must get them to take their medicine
MARY POPPINS
I Know just the trick! (Walks to the children)
Now children, we do not steal and we must take our medicine. (the children go to run again)
PENNY
But it tastes GROSS
JACK
Makes me want to be sick
MARY POPPINS
Well why don’t you try this (she hands them a spoon and a bag of sugar)
PENNY

SPOONFUL OF SUGAR
(At the end of the dance, the two children turn hypo instead. The two look evil and chase the characters down the road to the next scene)
ELPHABA
Listen one, listen all, I will rule once and for all. They can not see and they do not know, but I am the star of this show. Once my plan works it course I will be the best, and Dorothy will be lost just like the rest (evil laugh)

They really did trick me (checks her purse and notices its missing) And they stole my purse! (She goes to walk back for it)

NO! We can’t go back, we must keep going we will never get home

DOROTHY

It got to a point where they even thought I looked scary and well it is a lot easier for me to act all big and tough and scare people away than be nice and people throw it all away.
