The Gulf of Thailand is located in the tropical area from 99.00-105E and 6.00-14.00N. This area is a semi-enclosed sea and connected to the South China Sea. This area is influenced by reversing monsoon winds. The northeast and southwest winds are the typical monsoon winds over this region.
The figures show a monthly mean of surface chlorophyll-a and sea surface temperature from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aqua during 2003-2020.
