The Entrepreneurship learning objectives are drawn from our assessments of existing entrepreneurship coursework and activities at UMBC. In addition to these four core learning objectives, students will select a single personalized learning objective.
The final presentation in ENTR200 focuses on developing a company that will deliver gas to our customers. My team and I worked on pitching the idea and developing the logistics around it.
The final presentation in ENTR201 focuses on introducing entrepreneurial ideas/technics to the class.
I completed the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minor to satisfy my entrepreneurship challenge because of the amount of knowledge I could gain. I also would like to create a company of my own one day. The experience will teach me that imagination is not bad, but you can make it a reality when you develop a plan around your creativity. The spirit of being a team member is one of the biggest things in entrepreneurship because to achieve something extraordinary, and you need a like-minded team that has a common goal. I also learned that we do not have to have a company or develop a new idea to have an entrepreneur mindset. We can all utilize that type of mindset every day.
In every aspect of things that were worked on for this experience, I was able to stay true to the things I believe in and the guide around the class. I worked with my team to create a company and pitch the idea to the class.
In all the presentations given, my team members and I worked to include our points of view and develop strategies to assess our risk, especially when creating the company idea of FuelMe in ENTR200.
When generating a new idea or work, it is essential to be realistic, especially regarding timelines needed to complete proposals and effectively communicate your goals for the company.
Teamwork is essential in entrepreneurship, especially when it comes to communicating ideas with each other logically. We also had to work effectively and manage our time to meet our deadline for our pitch deck for our FuelMe company idea.
We needed to make sure we understood what we were going to talk about; this led us to go back to the drawing board multiple times—and work to develop a solution to the problem we proposed using entrepreneurial thinking.
As an entrepreneur, it is imperative to be very flexible about previous plans and things needed to be done.
My grand challenge is making solar energy economical, although this challenge does not relate to me now. I hope to one day create a company that focuses on generation power purely by utilizing renewable energy.
