I have been involved with Scissett FC from my time in the U15s and now play for the club at 21. Over the years, I’ve taken on various roles that have contributed to both my personal growth and the club’s development. I coached the U8s for two seasons, ran the club’s social media platforms for the past four years, and actively participated in community-focused events and initiatives that have positively impacted Scissett FC’s visibility and engagement within the local area.
U8's Coaching
I was responsible for managing all aspects of coaching the U8s, from planning and executing training sessions to organizing match-day activities. My goal was to create a positive environment where the kids could not only learn football skills but also develop teamwork, discipline, and confidence. I worked closely with parents to update them on player progress and planned end-of-season awards ceremonies to celebrate the children’s achievements. I also implemented a player rotation system, ensuring equal playing time for all to promote inclusivity and learning opportunities.
Social Media Management
Over the last four years, I transformed Scissett FC’s social media presence across platforms like Twitter and Facebook. I introduced a consistent posting schedule with match previews, post-match reports, and behind-the-scenes content. I developed player profiles, allowing fans to connect with players on a more personal level, and used graphics to celebrate individual player milestones, such as goals and clean sheets. I also experimented with video content, posting highlight reels and interviews, which significantly improved follower growth.
Community Events & Fundraisers
I played a key role in organizing community-driven events like charity football matches, youth tournaments, and open training sessions. These events helped increase the club’s visibility while fostering a sense of community involvement. For one major charity event, I led the promotion through targeted social media posts, creating a build-up campaign that involved local sponsors, players, and supporters. As a result, the event saw record attendance and raised substantial funds for the club and local charities.
