I was the programmer for this submission for the Ukie Game Jam 2025. I worked alongside a designer (Archie Kidd) and an artist (Nina Castello), and in 32 hours we were able to create a cosy game set in a paint shop.
The theme of this game jam was Contrast, so our idea was to have a greyscale, colourless world, with paintbrush characters that would come into our shop to purchase paint to help bring colour to their lives. The player must listen to the requests of the paintbrush customers and mix colours accordingly to create the shade that they want.Â
I handled the creation of the paints, the game loop, and the satisfying of orders, in addition to managing the GitHub. It was a very fun project to work on, and was my first experience working with people in different disciplines to myself. I learnt a lot about the art and design workflows, while also developing my teamwork and communication skills.
