I am a PhD Candidate and Research Assistant at Freie Universität Berlin and a fellow of the Joachim Herz Foundation.
I am an applied economist working at the intersection of economic history, development economics, and political economy. My research focuses on the long-term impact and origins of institutions. I examine how these institutions influence economic behaviour, civil society and political preferences over time.
I am at the 2025–2026 Job Market!
You can find my CV here and my university website here. I am also trying to be active on bluesky: @obwach.bsky.social.
My references are Theocharis Grigoriadis (FU Berlin), Nikolaus Wolf (HU Berlin), Sascha O. Becker (University of Warwick), and Cathrin Mohr (Kiel Institute and the University of Hamburg).
