I am interested in political economy and economic history. In my research, I look at historical events to better understand the political economy of non-democracies, regime change, and cultural change.

I am a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Bonn and a research fellow at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (ifw). I am holding a Substitute Professorship during winter term 2024/25 at the University of Bonn. 

My job market paper has won the Unicredit Econ Job Market Best Paper Award 2019.
