The preceding three pictures summarize the results of my sampling efforts. Of the notable difficulties encountered in these efforts, perhaps the most note worthy is net positioning. Specifically, whenever I tried to sample a particular section of my stream, I had to lower the net to a near horizontal angle relative to the streambed, as a result of the low water levels relative to the net's height. As such, the captured specimens could easily represent only the weightiest of the drifters, or contain more benthic invertebrates than would be representative.Â
