Pest and disease management is a constant challenge for all commercial cannabis growers. In addition to dealing with mites, thrips, gnats, aphids, whiteflies, leaf miners, powdery mildew, pythium, and botrytis, cannabis viruses, and viroids are rapidly spreading throughout the industry. The last thing growers need is the introduction of external pathogens by third-party suppliers.
At Old School Ganja, we understand that introducing pests or pathogens into a client's cultivation site could be detrimental to our reputation. That’s why we take pest management very seriously. Our integrated pest management system includes constant scouting and the rigorous use of both pesticides and beneficial insects.
Entry into our cultivation area is strictly controlled and requires gowning, hair nets, beard nets, and booties. Employees are required to shower and change clothes before entering from any third-party cultivation site. Additionally, all new cultivars are quarantined and tested before being introduced to the general population, and all plant batches are tested for HLVd.
