From Ruth & Peggy's post-sale email...
"We had 821 plants to sell that were well potted, trimmed, watered and ready for display—wow did they look good. After expenses we expect to have raised close to $4,000 to support our club’s meetings and community projects.
Thank you to all the gardeners who transplanted perennials and natives then nurtured them right up to sale day; to those who invited our fearless diggers into your gardens; and a special thanks to Holly Emmons whose special plants accounted for more than 25% of the total plants received.
The dedicated team effort of over 30 OBGC volunteers made this plant sale happen, led by our committee chairs and others:
Amanda Miles who coordinated the diggers and scheduled digs
Nancy Cameron who ensured posters and road signs were visible
Marianne Pinkham for her advertising poster design and who, along with Nancy Dickinson, kept social media postings about this event current
Holly Emmons who wrote articles and oversaw advertising in LCN
Bunny Adams who coordinated clean-up and has offered to store the materials we need each year in her barn
Katharine Dodge who created the two beautiful posters describing how OBGC uses the funds we raise each year."
Are we ready?
Yes, we are!
Then we're off...
This year's diggers have begun! We dug at Pat Schramm's garden first, in gorgeous weather, potting May apples and wild geranium. Diggers (l to r) were Tony, Beth, Deanne, Margaret, Nancy, Tina, Peggy and photographer Amanda.
