FAQs

When is lacrosse season?

Lacrosse is played in the Spring. Please see the page "Spring Season" for updates on practices and games.

What if my son has no experience?

That is fine! We welcome players at all skill levels.  We will help your son learn the fundamentals of the game and help him grow as a player.

What equipment does my son need to play?

Equipment needed includes a Stick, Helmet, Mouth Guard, Shoulder Pads, Elbow Pads, Gloves, Protective Cup, Cleats. You can find this equipment both online and in local sports equipment stores.  Local stores like Dick's Sporting Goods (Leawood or N.KC locations) or Bardown Sports. Check the equipment tab for more information and a diagram.

How much does it cost to play?

Youth Fees for the 2024 Spring Season are $250 for 5th/6th and 7th/8th, $200 for 3rd/4th grade, and $150 for 1st/2nd grade.

This includes games and practices. A US Lacrosse membership is required to play and is purchased separately.  Uniforms will be $56 for jersey and shorts (2024 season will use the same uniforms from 2023).

How many players are on a team?

1st & 2nd Grade

Plays 4v4 on a small field (approx. 1/2 football field).

3rd & 4th Grade

Plays 6v6 on a small field (approx. 1/2 football field).

To field a 6v6 team, we ideally want 10 players.  5 players playing the field, with a goalie, with at least 4 subs.

U12 - 5th & 6th Grade

Will play 10v10 on a full field (approx. full football field). 9 players on field with 1 goalie. 15-18 players is ideal for a full field team.  Players are subbed in and out quickly, so all players get lots of playing time.

U14 - 7th & 8th Grade

Will also play 10v10 on full field. 15-18 players on a team is ideal.
