Motivation Letter
The project aims to develop an interpretable artificial intelligence tool for breast cancer detection from mammography images that is capable to work on diverse data from multiple centers in Tunisia and Turkey. The project partners aim to collect mammography data including genomics and histopathology information from multiple centers in Tunisia and Turkey and develop machine learning tools to automate image quality assessment, lesion detection and visualization tasks:
1. Lesion Detection for Mammography images
2. Developing algorithms that can utilize information bot from imaging and non-imaging data
3. Developing domain adaptation techniques for handling data from multiple centers
Funding & Details
PhD positions are fully funded (24000TL/month) by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). In addition, MSc. positions for employed students will be considered with funding (4500TL/month). The prospective students will be able to attend to prestigious international conferences and spend some time in top international institutes. The candidates must be enrolled or should apply in a graduate program in Turkey and can start to work from January 2025. There is no hard deadline for applications and new applications will be considered till the positions are filled. We encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
Required Skills
We are looking for highly motivated students with an academic background in Physics, Computer Science or Engineering. The following skills are required:
· Experience with Python and deep learning libraries (e.g. Pytorch, Tensorflow or Keras).
· Motivation in machine learning and computer vision problems/algorithms.
· Enthusiasm to work on clinical challenges.
· Good academic writing skills and English communication skills.
