Terms & Conditions for Oki Walks
These terms apply to the Oki Walks app (com.okigroup.walks, listed on Google Play as "Walks - Private Tracker") for Android, published by Lee Vinnson, trading as Oki Group ("we", "us"). Please read them before using the app. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
1. What the app is
Oki Walks lets you record walks, see your route on a map and count your steps. Your walks are stored on your phone. How the app handles your data is explained in our Privacy Policy: https://sites.google.com/view/okigrouptermsconditions/privacy
2. Price and ads
The app is free to use. Saving and viewing your walks will stay free. We may add optional features or optional rewarded ads in future. Whether the current version shows ads, and what data they use, is described in the Privacy Policy. If we ever offer anything paid, we'll show you the price clearly before you pay, and you'll never be charged without your agreement.
3. Your use of the app
You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app, or try to extract its source code, except as the law allows, and don't use the app in a way that breaks the law or harms other people. The app, its design and the Oki Walks name and logo belong to us. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and is available under the Open Database Licence.
4. Safety
Please walk safely. Stay aware of your surroundings and traffic, and don't look at your phone when it isn't safe to. Routes, distances and step counts are estimates and may not be exact. Oki Walks is not a medical device and doesn't give medical advice. Check with a doctor before starting a new exercise routine if you have health concerns.
5. Your phone, internet and data costs
The map needs an internet connection. Your mobile provider may charge you for data, including roaming charges abroad. Keeping your phone secure is up to you. We advise against rooting your phone, as it can weaken its security and stop the app working properly.
6. Third-party services
The app uses services from other companies, which have their own terms: OpenStreetMap map tiles (https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Terms_of_Use), Google Play services (https://policies.google.com/terms), and Google's ad software in versions that include it (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads).
7. Updates and changes to the app
We may update the app to fix problems, improve it or keep it compatible with Android. Some older versions may stop working properly if you don't update. We may stop offering the app. If we do, we'll try to give you reasonable notice in the app or on this page. Because your walks are stored on your phone, stopping the app won't delete them.
8. Liability
We provide the app free of charge and do our best to keep it working well, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as your phone, your internet connection or third-party services. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded by law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page and update the date below. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app or on this page before it takes effect. If you don't agree with the new terms, you can stop using the app and uninstall it.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. If you live in the EU or UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
