Hi everyone!
My name is Okeke Ikenna, and I’m originally from a small rural town in South eastern Nigeria— I’m the oldest of four siblings. I am married and with 2 children, a boy and a girl. My siblings are professionals working in the health sectors and into personal business. Career-wise, I’ve been building experience in public health since my associate’s degree. I worked part-time as a Health Education Assistant at a nonprofit wellness center, teaching nutrition workshops and managing outreach. Last year, I interned with the County Health Department’s COVID-19 Response Team, where I helped plan pop-up vaccine clinics and analyze case data—super hands-on and eye-opening. I’m set to graduate with my BS in Applied Health in February 2026, and I’m currently about to start studying for the CHES exam.
My career goal is to become a Public Health Program Coordinator. I want to design and lead community programs that actually make a difference—especially in underserved areas. Long-term, I’d love to work on health equity initiatives, maybe even in maternal/child health or chronic disease prevention.
Outside of school and work, I like playing football, Adventure and reading. I’m training for a Tech course on Product Management. I also speak Basic Arabic language and love using it to connect with co-workers during outreach.
I’m taking this class to refine my professional materials and get real feedback before I start applying to full-time roles after graduation. I’m excited to present my profile to all of you.
Thanks for reading—looking forward to connecting!
