Founded in 2020, the ORA is meant to grow the sport of roundnet across the state of Ohio. Inspired by similar organizations from around the country, ORA aims to serve the roundnet community by connecting and organizing players across the state. By equipping hubs, clubs, and free-lance players to spread the game in their area and by establishing a structure for all skills to compete in and grow, ORA hopes to help make roundnet the next great american (and world?) sport.
CREATE a cohesive framework across the state that allows more people to play the game while simultaneously enhancing their skill set and offering incentives to Ohioan roundnetters from local hubs & clubs to travel and compete.
Players of all skill sets gather to play together in local Hubs. Increasing in knowledge, skill, and appreciation of the game while hopefully enjoying the great community and making new friends. Devoted and talented players from Hubs then go on to create or join Clubs at either the Amateur, College, or High School level - where they can compete together in ORA and SRA Tournaments across the state, region, and country. All having the utmost of fun while doing it.
Network Players
If you didn't know, roundnet is already quite popular in Ohio... we have:
Groups (hubs) in the largest cities
Clubs at major universities and multiple high schools
Claim to the #2 Roundnet Player in the country (and maybe the world?)
But unfortunately, there's no centralized focus to allow across state competition and growth. ORA hopes to foster a community where all players are welcomed to play, have fun, and get connected with others.
Equip Hub/Club leaders
ORA hopes to build a system that establishes, grows, and sustains hubs & clubs by creating a group of supportive hub & club leaders. ORA will:
help through leadership transitions
provide tools and tips for gaining members, training them, and making a fun learning environment
provide guidance and contacts for local schools and PE programs to pass the sport onto the next generation
Provide Structure
ORA aims to offer:
Tools for consistent gatherings at Hubs & Clubs
Communication between Clubs for inter-play
Connections to your local community for running events/tournaments
Training sessions from some of the best in country
Help in hosting tournaments, establish leagues, teach clinics.
an ORA Tour Series throughout the state... soon
