Current projects like the 13 OH5 Lego project, the Birthday Party, Etc along with information on donating to the foundation and why that makes a difference!
The OH5 Lions are working with the Braxton Long family to gather new sets of Legos to donate to both Nationwide and Dayton Children's Hospitals. Braxton passed away at the age of 8 in 2017, but he was a huge fan of Legos, and always asked his parents to not only bring HIM legos in the hospital, but also for his friends, so they wouldn't be bored. We have helped the family bring in almost 1000 sets to date, and rising. This is an easy project for any district to do!
The 13 OH-2 STEPS Walk continues to be well supported by the district. Lions sported bandanas in community walks to support the cause. In addition to a donation to the state foundation, each year Lion Mona presents our $1000 check to the Toledo Childrens Foundation to ProMedica Hospital in Fostoria, our partner in this event. The district also continues to donate to affected families throughout the district. Local clubs have pitched in with fundraisers to add to this. All recipients truly appreciated the donations.
Thank-you Lions of OH2 for your support!
Each year, the seven Lions districts in Ohio, numerous clubs, and individual Lions members donate to the Ohio Lions Pediatric Cancer Foundation. These donations go directly back to families in need - providing gas cards for immediate needs and research funding for future innovations in treatments and care. Research donations are given in a rotation cycle to the six Ohio hospitals with pediatric cancer centers: Akron Childrens Hospital, Cincinnati Childrens Hopital, Dayton Childrens Hospital, Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus, Promedica Hospital in Toledo, and Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital in Cleveland. We are grateful to have care so close at hand for our Ohio families.
The STEPS 5K in OH 1 is a family service project for Lions Jessica and Kenton Reichley and their two Lion Cubs, Blair and Jase. They have planned, set up, coordinated, and cleaned up after every District 5K. The Cubs will tell you that rain or shine the best part is running and/or walking with their Lions Club friends. Each year the goal is to get more participants and sponsors. Be sure to attend this year’s 5K TBA. at the McComb Village Park to support the efforts to build funds for Pediatric Cancer research and care.
