The OHBM Women Faculty SIG is seeking nominations for two Communications Officers. The Communications Officers will be responsible for developing content for blog posts, announcements and other relevant communications for the SIG that will then be disseminated through various platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, OHBM newsletter, WF-SIG website). We are particularly interested in having 1 postdoctoral fellow and 1 faculty member fill these positions to work synergistically towards the WF-SIG’s mission of supporting women in OHBM. The Communications Officers will work closely with the Social Media Officer, and will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with others on the SIG.
You are welcome to nominate yourself by applying through this form: https://forms.gle/2AdQ9ouRy1kQU9Sf7
Prior experience within the SIG is unnecessary. The current Chair and Secretary will also be happy to chat with you about what the role involves.
Eligibility
Current member of OHBM
Currently a faculty member, principal investigator, or planning to enter into such a position (e.g., senior postdoctoral fellow)
Be in good standing with OHBM and the SIG, as determined by the acting SIG officers. Exclusion criteria include violating the code of conduct on one or more occasions at SIG or OHBM-related events or having an explicit conflict of interest.
Each of these voluntary positions is for a ~three-year period; exceptionally this position will start April 1, 2026, and end June 2029. Electees will be introduced at the SIG’s annual meeting (during the OHBM venue). The first two years entail an active role within the SIG, and the third year will entail an advisory role. SIG members are required to attend at least 70% of meetings throughout the year (~8+ of 12 meetings annually) to remain in good standing with the SIG.
The nomination period is between March 2, 2026 and March 13, 2026.
Candidates selected for an interview will hear back around March 26, 2026.
Please feel free to pass along this call to individuals you think would be interested in this position.
