1.0 OVERVIEW
1.1 This page explains how to delete your Offly data. Offly is made by New Version Limited ("we," "us," or "our") and is available on iPhone and Android.
1.2 Offly has no accounts. Almost everything Offly knows about you lives only on your phone. If you used Flock or sent an idea from Help, a small amount of information is also on our server, linked to a random anonymous identity instead of your name or email address.
1.3 You can delete your data at any time. You do not need to give a reason.
1.4 Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Offly has no backup, so we cannot restore anything afterwards. If you would like a copy first, use Settings, then Export my data.
2.0 HOW TO DELETE YOUR DATA
2.1 IN THE APP (FASTEST, DELETES EVERYTHING)
(a) Open Offly, go to the Me tab and tap Settings.
(b) In the Account group near the bottom, tap Delete all data.
(c) The "Before you go" screen shows what will be erased. Tap Continue to delete.
(d) Press and hold Hold to delete for 3 seconds.
(e) When you see "All erased", your Offly data is gone from your phone and from our server.
(f) If you used Flock or sent an idea, this needs an internet connection. If you are offline, Offly tells you and erases nothing, so you can try again when you have a signal.
(g) While Strict Mode is on, Delete all data waits until Strict Mode ends. If it is a real emergency, tap "A real emergency?" to use Emergency pause.
2.2 TURN OFF FLOCK (DELETES WHAT IS ON OUR SERVER, KEEPS OFFLY ON YOUR PHONE)
(a) Open Offly, go to the Me tab and tap Settings.
(b) In the Friends group, tap Turn off Flock. The row is there while Flock is on.
(c) Read what will be deleted, then tap Turn off Flock.
(d) When you see "Flock is off. Its data is deleted.", everything listed in Section 3.2 is gone from our server, you are no longer in any flock, and Offly sends nothing more.
(e) Your Shields, progress and everything else on your phone stay. You can turn Flock on again later; you then start with a new anonymous identity.
(f) This needs an internet connection. If you are offline, Offly tells you and changes nothing, so you can try again.
2.3 LEAVING A FLOCK
(a) In the Flock tab, open the flock, tap Leave and confirm with Leave flock.
(b) If you own the flock, you choose a new owner first. If you are the only member, leaving ends the flock.
(c) Leaving removes you from that flock only. Your nickname, your recent daily figures and your other Flock information stay on our server, and Flock stays on. To delete them, use Turn off Flock (Section 2.2) or Delete all data (Section 2.1).
2.4 DELETING THE APP
(a) Deleting Offly from your phone removes everything Offly stored on the phone.
(b) It does not delete anything on our server, because nothing there links your information to you. Please use Turn off Flock or Delete all data first if you used Flock or sent an idea.
(c) On iPhone, Strict Mode can stop Offly from being deleted until Strict Mode ends.
(d) If you have already deleted the app, your Flock information is deleted automatically after 12 months without use (see Section 4.2), or you can ask us to delete it sooner (Section 2.5).
2.5 BY EMAIL (IF YOU NO LONGER HAVE THE APP)
(a) Email offly.support@newversion.studio with the subject "Delete my Offly data".
(b) Because there are no accounts, we cannot find your information from your name or email address. Our server knows you only by the Flock ID shown at the bottom of Settings once you use Flock or send an idea. It does not store the User ID shown above it. Please send as many of these details as you can:
(i) The Flock ID from Settings, if you still have it
(ii) Your Flock nickname
(iii) The name or join code of a flock you are in
(iv) Your invite code, from Settings, then Invite friends
(c) Without these details we may not be able to find your record.
(d) We aim to reply within 2 business days (New Zealand time). We may ask for more details to make sure the record is yours before we delete anything.
(e) Once we have found your record, we delete it within 20 working days and email you when it is done.
(f) If we cannot find your record with confidence, it is still deleted automatically after 12 months without use.
(g) Information that was only on your phone is never held by us, so we cannot delete it for you.
3.0 WHAT IS DELETED
3.1 ON YOUR PHONE
Delete all data erases:
(a) Your profile, name and avatar photo, your daily goal and your setup answers
(b) Your Shields, and every Shield is switched off
(c) Your usage figures, reflections, unlock history and Emergency pause history
(d) Your Feathers, level, Moon streak, quests, Eggs, badges and Nest items
(e) Your settings and preferences, and any ideas still waiting to be sent
(f) Every notification Offly had scheduled
3.2 ON OUR SERVER
Delete all data and Turn off Flock both delete, straight away:
(a) Your anonymous identity
(b) Your Flock profile: your nickname and avatar colour
(c) Your flock memberships and the invites you made
(d) Your daily figures
(e) Cheers you sent and cheers you received
(f) Your league entries and results
(g) Emergency Buddy requests you sent or received
(h) Your invite code and any code you redeemed
(i) Reports you made or that were made about you, and blocks either way
(j) The ideas you sent from Help
3.3 FLOCKS YOU OWN
(a) A flock you own passes to the member who has been in it longest, so your friends can carry on.
(b) If nobody else is in it, the flock is deleted.
4.0 WHAT IS NOT DELETED OR IS KEPT FOR A TIME
4.1 APP STORES
(a) Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases and subscriptions. Ask them if you want these removed.
4.2 AUTOMATIC DELETION ON OUR SERVER
(a) Even if you never use Turn off Flock or Delete all data, we delete a Flock identity and everything linked to it after 12 months without use.
(b) Daily figures are deleted after 21 days, Emergency Buddy requests after 1 day, and ideas after 12 months.
4.3 OTHER MEMBERS' PHONES
(a) Rewards your flock mates earned while you were in a flock with them, such as day wins and badges, are saved on their own phones and stay theirs.
4.4 SERVER LOGS AND BACKUPS
(a) Short-lived technical logs and any backups kept by our server provider are deleted or overwritten on the provider's normal cycle, within a limited time.
4.5 SUPPORT EMAILS
(a) Emails you sent us are kept only as long as we need them to help you and to keep records the law requires, and then deleted. We delete them sooner if you ask.
4.6 LEGAL RECORDS
(a) We keep what the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires.
4.7 YOUR PHONE
(a) A few technical records that Apple's Screen Time tools and Android's blocking service use, such as coded app references, recent usage counters and the home screen widget's last picture, can stay in Offly's storage on your phone until they are replaced or you delete the app. They contain no app names.
(b) On iPhone, your own phone backups may still contain some Offly settings from before you deleted your data. Those backups are controlled by you, not us.
(c) A file you exported with Export my data, or a card you shared or saved, is yours and is not affected.
5.0 SUBSCRIPTIONS
5.1 Deleting your data does not cancel an Offly Plus subscription, and we cannot cancel it for you. If you have Offly Plus, the "Before you go" screen shows a Manage Plus button to help.
5.2 To cancel on iPhone, open iPhone Settings, then your Apple Account, then Subscriptions, then Offly.
5.3 To cancel on Android, open Google Play, then your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Offly.
5.4 A Lifetime purchase stays with your App Store or Google Play account. If you install Offly again, use Restore purchases in Settings.
